British Mince Pie Recipe
One of my favourite British foods of the Christmas season are Mince Pies, especially good when they are home made!
Since living away from the UK for over 30 years, I have perfected the art of making these little pastry sensations. Unlike German Stollen, rum and fruit cakes, I have never been able to purchase them in any country I have lived in, but thankfully have been able to buy the pre-made mincemeat, which I jazz up with some alcohol!
They are essentially pastry cups, filled with the mincemeat, topped with a pastry star and sprinkled with powder sugar, for that festive feel. Absolutely scrumptious and a hit with everyone who has tried them. A British Christmas is simply not the same without them!
