1. Take a relaxing stroll on Buenaventura’s beautiful white sandy beaches.
Look out over the lake from Villa Ibis, and what you’ll see is the Pacific Ocean and Martini Beach (named by the expats and friends since it’s the place people go at cocktail hour with their coolers and beach chairs)!
And it’s so, close to the Villa – only a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk.
Whether you want to just sit and watch the waves, catch a few sunrays, take a refreshing dip in the sea, build sandcastles with the kids or or simply unwind with a good book you won’t want to miss some beach time to entertain the family. (We have beach chairs, a cooler and buckets and spades for you to take with you!).

2. Golf
Buenaventura’s 18-hole, world championship, Jack Nicklaus Golf course is a truly unique experience . It’s a challenging course for any level of player and meticulously maintained (the grass is Paspalum Platinum). Aside from the fairways, there are white sand traps, beautiful lakes and trees and an elegant club and pro shop. Voted the best course in Panama for the 5th year running.
3. Tennis and Paddle Courts (and in 2024, Pickle Ball Courts)
If you are an avid Tennis or Paddle player, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to bring your racquet and hit a few balls!
Just a few minutes walk from Villa Ibis there’s tennis court open for anyone to use (first come, first served!) which also has flood lights for night-time playing. In addition, there are three more tennis courts and 2 paddle courts located at the sports club close to the main entrance to Buenaventura. And for 2024, Buenaventura are promising to add Pickle Ball courts.
The sports club have an excellent, bi-lingual team of experienced tennis and paddle players ready to work with you on your game.
4. Walking and Biking
There are miles of routes and paths around Buenaventura for you to discover using our useful printed guides in the guest folder at Villa Ibis or by just getting out and discovering them for yourself!
For people who love to bike, we have two adult bikes at Villa Ibis for guest use and if you want more bikes, they are available for rental from the Buenaventura Marina.
5. Fishing and Boat Trips
Make your stay at Buenaventura even more memorable by taking a private boat charter with a highly experienced skipper. You can go whale watching (in season), fishing and swimming off the beach at the beautiful Isla Farallon. and with a little bit of guidance from the crew, you may be lucky enough to catch your evening meal of of Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, or even a Tuna to pop on the grill at Villa Ibis.
